[How To] Play PS2 Games off a USB External Hard Drive Using PS2 Slim (part 1)

*Important Notes added on 11-27-10* 1) Make sure that every time you delete or add a game, you defrag the hard drive. If files are not continuous, you will risk getting a game freeze. 2) If you have FMCB, you no longer need a modchip or swap magic or any other 3rd party tool. This is part 1 of part 2 series. I will show you how to use the PS2 slim and how to play games off a USB hard drive. See full text guide tutorial here with files: versatile1.wordpress.com Pre-Req: * Playstation 2 console, fat or slim. If using Free Mcboot, you cannot use it with a slim PS2 made after March 2008. * ULaunch Elf disc (only if you don't have Free McBoot installed). * External hard drive with external power supply. * Swap magic 3.6 or equivalent (mod-chip is ok too) * Free Mcboot Package. Download here: www.sksapps.com Get the latest version. Extract contents of zip file to USB thumb drive. Install by watching my other Free McBoot tutorial. * USBAdvance disc (only if you don't have Free McBoot installed). Blog: versatile1.wordpress.com
